THE IDEA

Separate creating from editing records

Create permits adding a new record; Edit permits changing an existing record. A role can need one capability without needing every other capability.

Read the access request carefully and set each operation explicitly. This lesson practices object permission configuration rather than claiming to model every Salesforce security layer.

Builds on Grant only the access needed

A WORKED EXAMPLE

A simple example

A data-entry role can be allowed to read and create leads while an administrator retains edit and delete responsibilities.

A common mistakeRead plus Create does not mean Edit and Delete should also be enabled.
