Minimum necessary access

LEARN THIS FIRST

Access should be limited to what the task requires. Compare each proposed permission with the requested capability.

See a small example

Someone who only needs to read reports should not receive broad administration rights.

Common mistake

Convenience is not a reason to grant unrelated privileges.

Now try it

At Beacon Studio 101, an analyst has a minimum access base profile and needs to read and edit Opportunities without access to other objects. Which permission set grants the required object access without unrelated privileges?

✧

Take your time. A mistake is a useful part of practice.

A small hint +

The object and permitted operations must both match the task. Use the narrowest sufficient permissions.

You don’t have to get it right the first time.
